Annual Members' Meeting 2019

Let's get together!

Every year, we hold an Annual Members’ Meeting where we bring together the Trust’s members, our staff, governors and board of directors. It’s a great opportunity for our members to find out about the great work that’s taken place over the last 12 months.

We welcomed over 100 members to the event on Tuesday 30 July. The day was made up of various presentations, question and answer sessions and, finally, ‘The Big Conversation’.

On arrival, guests were invited to wander round a ‘You Said, We Did’ style exhibition, which responded to feedback from last year’s Members’ Meeting focusing on person-centred care. There were also stalls from Mindwell, the newly launched Recovery College and the Council of Governors.

The formal part of the day – our Annual General Meeting – began with a video presentation about our Community Mental Health Services redesign project. Guests then heard from the Lead Governor, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive, who provided updates on:

  • what the Council of Governors has been doing over the last year
  • our annual accounts for the past year and how we have used our money to provide and develop our services
  • what the Trust has done over the last year and what we want to achieve in the coming year

The Big Conversation

The second part of the day was dedicated to The Big Conversation. Guests were asked to think about how we improve…

  • the experience of carers
  • service user experience
  • public involvement

Following discussions on tables, there was a collective feedback session around the room. It was fantastic to hear first-hand what matters most to our members, and their ideas for how we can improve. This vital feedback will be used to inform the priorities for the Patient Experience and Involvement Strategy so that we can keep improving the care we provide.

The event was rounded off with afternoon tea giving guests the perfect opportunity to network, reflect on the day and take a final look at the exhibition and stalls.
