Time to Change
Time to Change is England's most ambitious programme to end discrimination faced by people who experience mental health problems.
Not only is it England’s biggest ever attempt to end stigma and discrimination and improve well-being, it is also a world first. Funded year on year by the government it has attracted support from notable celebrities who have lived experience of mental distress.
The campaign’s success is measured each year by evaluating its impact on the experience people actually have of discrimination.
The programme of 35 projects is led by Mental Health Media, Mind, and Rethink. It is funded from the Big Lottery Fund and Comic Relief, and evaluated by the Institute of Psychiatry at King’s College, London.
The programme is backed by international evidence on what works, and has at its heart people with direct experience of mental health problems.
Many other organisations are working to combat discrimination and improve wellbeing – locally, nationally, and internationally. There are a number of organisations involved in Leeds including our Trust, NHS Leeds, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Leeds Mind, Information for Mental Health, Volition, Community Links, Together, Leeds City Council and many more.
