Rita Dawson

Constituency: Service User: Leeds
elected to the Council of Governors

I was a patient using mental health services provided by the Trust for five years, and I received excellent and effective care and treatment. This has motivated me to apply to stand as a governor as I passionately want everyone to have the best possible treatment and outcome.

Alongside my ‘lived experience’ of mental health services, I have become increasingly involved in various projects and groups within the Trust. I am a member of the Service User Network, the Patient Experience Team and the Involvement Strategic Steering Group, and the Service User Reference Group for research projects within the Trust.

I hope as a member of the Council of Governors I am able to help and support the Trust to provide excellent services to service users, fulfilling the values of the Trust.
