elected to the: Council of Governors

I am proud to have been elected as a Governor to represent carers in Leeds after my experience caring for family members with acute and ongoing mental health needs.

I hope I will be able to make a really useful contribution to the Governors team thanks to my background working in public policy and finance. I spent several years working in economic policy roles and was an Assistant Director at the government Department for Business in Westminster, before returning to Leeds to look after my family, when I moved into academic research looking at social sustainability in economic policy and government finance at the University of Leeds. Money is always an awkward and complicated topic but I do it all day everyday so I hope to be a useful colleague in this way.
