Cathy Woffendin

Role:Director of Nursing, Professions and Quality

What I do:

I lead on the development of the professions within the Trust which covers Nursing, Allied Health Professionals and Psychology. Together we aim to deliver the Trust values of integrity, simplicity and caring in everything we do for service users and their families and carers. My particular focus is to ensure that quality is of a high standard across the organisation and I work closely with Claire Kenwood, our Medical Director, to oversee the current quality and delivery of our services and shape these to best meet future needs.

How I contribute to improving the experience of service users and carers

It’s important to me to know the quality and standard of our services, to help me to do this I lead a team which works directly with service users to gather and share their insight and feedback about their experience whilst in our care. This feedback is a vital tool for us. It shows us where we’re getting things right and where there Is still work to be done to improve our services.

My Experience:

I’m a qualified nurse and worked in a variety of organisations in the NHS and private sector for over 30 years. I did some further training and gained a degree in Public Health Nursing and then worked as a health visitor developing a child health and safeguarding specialism. I moved into management in 2005.and have undertaken further study at Master’s level in Management and leadership

I’m extremely passionate about improving care for patients and their families and I know that this Trust has great staff and is ambitious about delivering patient-centred care.
