Letters to Loved Ones
This is a very difficult time for our patients, their families and loved ones. Not being able to talk to one another due to social distancing and the need to suspend visiting has been very distressing for everyone.
To help people stay in touch, and in addition to the use of video calls, we have set up an email address that families and friends can use to send messages to their loved ones whilst they are in our care.
How does this work?
To send a letter, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org with your message, the full name of who you want to send the message to along with their, date of birth or address, the site they are on (e.g. The Mount) and the ward if known, and any special requirements (e.g. large print / letter to be read out). This is to make sure that your message is delivered to the correct.
Your message will then be printed out, popped in an envelope and delivered by the next working day.
We are only able to offer this service Monday – Friday and any letters sent after 2pm on a Friday will be delivered on the following Monday.
What if I don’t have email?
If you don’t have an email account or access to email, don’t worry. Our PALS team are happy to take your message over the phone. Call 0800 0525 790 and let us know what you would like to send. This will be printed out as a letter and delivered in the same way as email messages.
