COVID19 Vaccination Programme staff page

This page contains information for LYPFT staff on accessing Covid19 vaccinations, training and other staff-specific information. Page updated: Tuesday 19 January 2021

We are delighted to confirm that the LYPFT Covid Vaccination Centre at The Mount (The Annexe) in Leeds launched successfully on Monday 11th January.

This page is specifically for staff. We have created another page which contains more general information including patient information, frequently asked questions and testimonies from people who’ve already received the vaccine.

If you can’t find an answer on these dedicated pages about clinical queries for yourself or service users for example about side effects and impact of having the vaccine on other medications please contact Medicines Information on 0113 85 55534.

Our vaccination rollout – Update from the Vaccine Programme Team

We have started our full schedule of appointments at The Mount Covid Vaccination Centre. It’s been a phenomenal effort to expand the vaccination effort so that we can reach more staff and service users. A big thank you goes to the vaccination team, everyone supporting them and to all those staff who have attended.

As of 9am on 18 January, we can report that 977 members of our staff have received their 1st vaccination, which means that over 27% of our staff have now received their first vaccination.  We’re also delighted to report that a roving team have vaccinated many of our most vulnerable service users at The Mount and Clifton House in York.

This week a roving team will be vaccinating at The Newsam Centre and The Askets.

As part of our inpatient programme we may be able to offer a vaccination to staff on duty at the sites we are visiting. We will be in contact with staff where and when this is available but you all have access to the staff vaccination hubs.

In order to achieve our shared ambition to vaccinate as many of staff as possible in the next few weeks please can we ask you to:

  • Be flexible with your availability for an appointment when contacted by the booking team or when you are contacted direct by the vaccination team
  • Please make every effort to attend your appointment
  • Prepare the paperwork sent to you ahead of your appointment to help prescribers and the vaccination team

Getting your vaccination

ALL STAFF can go ahead and book vaccinations as the rollout expands.

While we encourage everyone who is offered the vaccine to take it, it is entirely voluntary as with the flu.

The Mount / Thackray hubs:

All staff can register by emailing cvacmountannexe.lypft@nhs.net. Please include your name, job role and phone number so we can contact you to arrange an appointment.

You can also now phone the booking team on 0113 85 58866 between 9am – 7pm.  We will aim to respond as soon as possible, but please be aware that this phone-line is likely to have busy periods so you may need to call back.  This phone line is for 1st appointments only so please do not ring to chase your 2nd appointments.

We are currently providing the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine at our hub at The Mount and via our roving team. The Thackray is currently providing the Pfizer vaccine.

When we contact you we will advise which hub you should attend for your appointment.

You will be asked to book both your first and second appointment at the same time. Your second appointment with be subject to change so please don’t worry too much about commitments around this date as it is likely it may change.

When you attend your appointment please remember to bring with you your Staff ID, a face mask, and your NHS number.

Our other regional teams:

We are still investigating routes for our other regionally based staff to access vaccination appointments, and we will share the details with you as soon as we can.

NHS England ideally don’t want anyone to have to travel over 10 miles to get a vaccine.

We will update you on this as soon as we can, but please be assured that you haven’t been forgotten.

Local PCN hubs or GP practices:

We are aware that some Primary Care Networks have had spare vaccination slots which they have opened up to our staff on a first come first served basis.  This is another opportunity for staff to obtain a vaccination; however we do not have any control or prior notice of when this will occur as we are not responsible for managing this process.

If you have your vaccination through this route please let the Infection Control Team know by emailing lypft.covid19testing@nhs.net so we can maintain an accurate record on who has received the vaccine and ensure appointments are offered to those who have not yet had the vaccine.

PFI staff / third sector staff:

Please liaise with your manager to get booked. We are pleased that some of our housekeeping staff at The Mount were offered the vaccine yesterday and a big thank you for their support.
