COVID19 Vaccination Programme staff page
This page contains information for LYPFT staff on accessing Covid19 vaccinations, training and other staff-specific information. Page updated: Wednesday 21 April 2021
This page is specifically for staff. We have created another page which contains more general information including vaccine information leaflets and films, frequently asked questions and testimonies from people who’ve already received the vaccine.
Covid vaccination programme: latest updates
88% of staff have now received their first dose and around 62% their second dose which is amazing! Thanks to all involved.
Update on the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine for all staff (9 April 2021)
We have published an update for all Trust staff following the press conferences held on 7 April 2021 by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the Joint Committee on Vaccinations and Immunisation (JCVI).
The overwhelming message is that the benefits of having the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine far outweigh the risks. No element of the vaccination programme has been halted, but new guidance has been issued particularly focusing on the importance of attending your second appointment, and new guidance relating to first vaccines for the under 30s.
Pregnant women and the vaccine
There has been some updated guidance on the vaccination for pregnant women (see the section below).
Second dose vaccination appointments
Appointment times at The Mount are booked between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday which are the new opening hours for our hub.
We’re trying to ensure staff don’t turn up at The Mount without a booked appointment so if you need to clarify your appointment, change it or just talk to someone about it, then please contact our booking team who will be happy to help. You can contact them by email at email@example.com or phone 0113 85 58866.
Vaccinating service users and staff on our inpatient sites
Our roving vaccination team is making weekly visits to our inpatient sites for service user first dose vaccinations. Staff can also get their first doses when the team are on site if they wish.
Monday – Newsam, Askets
Tuesday – Woodlands Square, Parkside Lodge, St Mary’s Hospital
Wednesday – Becklin Centre
Thursday – Aire Court, The Mount, NICPM
Friday – Clifton House and home visits
Please make sure any service users requiring first dose vaccinations are prepared and ready.
Patient information leaflets have been distributed to sites and a series of resources to support service users with taking up their invitation for a Covid vaccination are available on our website.
Staff vaccine stories
Many of you have shared your feelings of relief, optimism, hope and pride at having the vaccine, so thank you. You can read some of the experiences of our staff who have received the vaccine or watch films on our YouTube Covid vaccination playlist.
Our hub at The Mount is still open for staff
We know that some people feel unsure or are simply waiting for the right time based on their individual circumstances. Please be reassured that our vaccination hub is still open to all our staff to book their first appointment.
If you are a manager or leader of a team or service and would like the vaccination team to set up a clinic in your place of work please let us know. This can be accommodated particularly where there are groups of staff who are struggling to get access in their working hours.
You can contact the vaccination team to arrange this by email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 0113 85 58866.
How do you feel about the vaccine? Are you aged 25-55? Healthwatch Leeds want to hear from you.
Healthwatch Leeds are holding a check-in survey targeting people aged between 25-55, to ask how they feel about getting the vaccine. You can take part in the survey online and it would be great if you could also encourage your networks, work colleagues, friends and family to take part.
