Wellbeing retreat for staff working in the NHS, health, care and education sectors in Leeds

With the support of Leeds Health and Care Academy, these experiential sessions are exclusively for people who work in the NHS, local government, primary care, independent care providers, the third sector and education in Leeds.

Our events have specifically been designed to provide time for health care staff to reflect on their own mental and emotional health, allowing opportunities to consider their own wellbeing needs and connect with peers who have been working through the pandemic.

Each retreat has up to 14 places, and we ask you to book via your work email address to confirm your eligibility.

Compassion fatigue

You can’t give what you don’t have. Sometimes we find ourselves empty with nothing left to give.

Compassion fatigue is a broadly defined concept that can includes emotional, physical, and spiritual distress in those providing care to another. Throughout this pandemic, day in, day out, doctors, nurses, peer workers, teachers, support staff and many more people besides, have stepped up, pushed forward, and ploughed through.

In this workshop we will:

  • Explore the personal impact of compassion fatigue
  • Consider how compassion fatigue can take a physical, mental, spiritual and emotional toll
  • To hit the pause button, reflect on where you are at and the things which may help to reduce and overcome compassion fatigue

This retreat includes a vegan / vegetarian lunch, refreshments throughout the day and additional take home resources.
