The service is starting to recover following a period of significant disruption.
Service users who’ve had an appointment cancelled over the last six months should either have an appointment re-booked in or a named professional nurse will be in touch.
We are now booking all types of appointments other than new patient appointments which will be offered as soon as we have been able to get all cancelled appointments booked in.
We have also been working on reducing the waiting times for a second assessment appointment, so we anticipate that in doing so, there should be a shorter wait for new patients to access their second (diagnostic appointment).
Service users are asked to read the information on our website or contact their GP if they have questions regarding hormone treatment.

Our existing waiting list currently stands at approximately a 15 month wait. Please be aware that while we have re-opened, people who have been referred will still experience a significant waiting time before they can be seen.
We recognise the impact that a long waiting time can have and our team are happy to offer support to GPs and other professionals in supporting service users while they are waiting.
Appointments to commence, restart and make changes to medication have also started up again. We are able to offer appointments using video or telephone calls, and any future correspondence will detail all options available.

Veterans’ Complex Treatment Service (CTS) |

Most contacts are being provided virtually but we are able to offer face to face appointments based on clinical need. This will increase further when the buildings across the region are open and we are aiming for this to be in place during October.
We are expecting that we will then offer a blended approach of face to face and video technology to suit veteran’s needs.
